  • Intervention 2: Promote value addition

    Actions: 

    Establish and strengthen agro based value addition chains at the small holder skilling centre including but not limited to:

    • Banana juice processing 
    • Milk and yoghurt processing
    • Fruit jam making

Intervention 3: Promote the use of mobile applications for market information, weather forecasts, and agricultural extension services.

Actions: 

    • Partner and foster collaboration between technology providers, research institutions, and agricultural stakeholders to develop and adapt technologies that are suitable for small-scale farming and agro-based enterprises.
  • Train local agricultural extension workers and community leaders who can then assist others in their communities.

Intervention 4: Support the establishment of community-based savings and credit groups to promote financial inclusion and access to capital.

Actions: 

    • Assist individuals in accessing loans and credit facilities tailored to their business needs and repayment capacity.
    • Mobilise and provide microfinance services and credit facilities tailored to the needs of smallholder farmers to invest in their livelihoods and entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Establish revolving funds, microfinance initiatives, or cooperatives to provide affordable credit to smallholder farmers and producers
